National Identity, Political Values, and Attitudes Toward Donald Trump

Matthew Wilson, professor of Political Science at SMU, will speak on how Trump supporters and opponents understand national identity and "American values" in different ways. He will also talk about how this means that the 2020 election will be, at least in part, a battle over what it means to be authentically American.
