Suzanne Baars, M.A., In His Christian Counseling Service. Ms. Baars holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary's University and is licensed in Texas as a professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, and chemical dependency therapist. Ms. Baars is currently in private practice and operates In His Image Christial Counsel Service in Dallas, Texas. She has appeared on EWTN's "Living His Life Abundantly" with Johnette Benkovic many times and presented the work of her late father, Dr. Conrad Baars, in the areas of treating scrupulosity, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and emotional deprivation disorder, among other things. The work of Dr. Conrad Baars and his Colleague Dr. Anna Terruwe was praised by both Pope Paul VI and John Paul II. Ms Baars has also been a guest and co-host on Catholic Television in San Antonio's evangelization program, "Catholicism Live!" In addition, in order to better aid both the layperson and professional to understand the psychology based on St. Thomas Aquinas, which truly integrates the Christian concept of the human person and sound psychological principles, Ms. Baars has recorded a set of four lectures on audiotape, entitled "Made in His Image: Healing and Wholeness for Living the Affirmed Life." She has also recorded a set of ten lectures, "The Abode of Love: Developing the Heart," which was produced by Alba House in collaboration with the International Institute for Clergy Formation of Seton Hall University. In addition, she recorded "Emotional Maturity and the Spritual Life," which was also recorded by Alba House.
Ms. Barrs is presently working with her colleague, Bonnie Shayne, M.A., to update some of her late father's work, "Born Only Once," "Feeling and Healing Your Emotions," and "Healing the Unafirmed" have recently be revised and republished.
Ms. Baars brought an assortment of her books to the meeting where they were offered for sale.
